HARRISBURG,
March 11, 2008 - State Sen. Jim Ferlo (D-Pittsburgh) today applauded the state Senate’s unanimous passage of the
package of six bills that protect homeownership and
guard against predatory lending practices.
Long before the issue became a national crisis, Sen.

began collaborating with the Banking Secretary to craft
legislation that addresses the home foreclosure and
predatory lending crisis.
“These common sense bills would
ensure that Pennsylvania consumers are better protected
from predatory lenders and mortgage foreclosures,” Ferlo
said. “I would like to thank Sen. Pat Browne for his
cooperation and commitment to this legislation, and I
would also like to commend Department of Banking
Secretary Steve Kaplan for continuing the good work we
started with former Sec. Bill Schenck.”
